Sandals Grenada and Grande Antigua deliver Romance

Pop-Pop and I have been married for 23 years and one of the most valuable lessons we learned early in our marriage was to always constantly search for ways to keep the romance alive. Whenever I visit certain islands or places, I’m always thinking to myself and wondering if the location would be a good place for love. Jamaica and Mexico have consistently remained my top choices for honeymoon couples, destination weddings and just celebrating love in general. Last month I had the absolute pleasure of visiting two of the most romantic places in the Caribbean and I wanted to take a minute to share my thoughts with you.

I consistently recommend the Sandals resorts to clients looking to spark the flames of romance. Sandals resorts cater only to couples. They do not have any suites with two beds. Everything is carefully crafted to entice your sensual side. Water themes and fire light up the night. Even the bathrooms are romantic, with the clean lines and water features. A bath for two inside or outside listening to nature. Sandals romance is on full display at both of these beautiful Caribbean island escapes.

There are nooks and crannies and special places for two that you can get lost in each other’s eyes, or you can get lost in the beauty of your surroundings. Both Sandals Grand Antigua and Sandals Grenada hit the mark and went above and beyond any expectations I thought I had.

I began my journey at Sandals Grande Antigua. The beach is quaint and small but the grounds are what really impressed me. As I arrived at the property, I was met with a cold glass and towel, a warm welcome and instructed to make myself comfortable as my check-in concierge would be with me shortly. I was walked to my room, given a short tour of the grounds and my room, and my journey for romance began.

The resort restaurants are beautiful and the food is outstanding. There was a show out in the promenade each evening and you would generally see couples strolling around the grounds, enjoying desserts or just gathering in small groups around the many fires that light up the property. This is an incredibly intimate and beautiful property.

Sandals Grenada is set up quite a bit differently. My room was in the “Lovers Lagoon” section of the resort and even though there was no ocean view, I still loved everything about the views of the lagoon, especially from the outdoor soaking tranquility tub. The real show-stopper here is the Sky Pool Suites! Yep, you heard me right. They have pools in the sky. Step out of bed and walk 5 steps into your own private plunge pool that has beautiful Caribbean sea views and is 5 floors high.

I am not a real “steak” kind of gal but Butch’s Chop House produced food above my wildest expectations. It was like tasting perfection. Every single request I had was anticipated and seen to in advance. I was seated immediately and definitely had to take a walk to burn off some of the calories. The attention to the smallest detail and the willingness of every single employee on the property to provide a memorable vacation experience is unlike anything I’ve experienced at other resorts.

My takeaway after visiting both of these amazing properties is that if you’re looking for top-notch treatment and a beautiful, safe location then you want to visit Sandals Grande Antigua and Sandals Grenada. The people are warm and welcoming and the islands have so much to explore.

If you are looking for a romantic place to spark the flames with your loved ones, give Grenada or Antigua a try.
